The artist Kan Kawada (1927-1999) was born in Tokyo in 1927 and began his studies in printmaking under the tutelage of Keisuke Serizawa. Kawada graduated from the Ochanomizu Bunka Gakuin Art Institute in Tokyo. Participated in the Sankikai Art exhibition from 1953 through 1959. In 1992, Kawada received the Grand Prize at the Nitten Art Exhibition. This woodcut print is signed in pencil with edition number of "AP" (artist's proof), dated 1970.  Framed and matted under glass.  Sight area measures about 19" x 25".  Frame measures about 25.5" x 31" x 0.75".
